Here we go!
Alright, I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly but here we go. I had the chance to meet with Dr. Rivera to discuss the requirements of the class. This semester is going to be a lot of work but the work seems to have numerous practical applications in the school setting. Dr. Rivera shared a nice motivational quote and we discussed it a bit. It was a nice ending to a meeting that built a certain level of anxiety. The fact that on-line posting plays such a central role in the class structure is going to be challenging for me. I feel my strengths lay more in a traditional educational structure. I find it easier to verbally express myself then to formalize my thoughts in written form then post it. With that being said, I'm up for the challenge.

Hello again Alan. Yes, the writing challenges: putting our thoughts into words. The constant questioning, "Did I say that right? Did I even spell that word correctly?" ;-) You'll do fine. This is basically the four of us, including Dr. Rivera, in class, sitting back, discussing our thoughts, wonders, successes, and worries all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteP.S.
I learned that if we see '0 comments' under someone's post, we should comment on it. We want to try to comment on everyone's post to provide support and encouragement, as I have done now. ;-) ALSO, don't forget to choose a quote after every class session/moodle and give your interpretations of it.

Hi Alan! You did a great job on your first post--you've got the hang of it just fine! This will be an intense course but I'm sure we'll all get through it fine.
ReplyDeleteAlan,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to see that you made it to our class blog successfully! With much diligence and hard work, there's no doubt that you will complete the course requirements. You also have wonderful classmates to support you along the way! Hang in there!
Best regards,
Dr. Rivera
